Friday: Online Quiz/Assignments are accessible starting at 3 PM for 48 hours.
When the exercises call for "ask a partner, work with a partner," etc., you play both roles, you and your partner's roles.

These are practice vocabulary quizzes. The format is identical to the real vocabulary quiz. I also included some "hints" to get your answers correct. You should use these before taking the real vocabulary quiz. Since these are practice, they don't affect your grades.

tb.p.48 A.1 means "textbook page 48, Activity 1" Follow the directions except for you'll do this alone, not with a partner.
Record the exercise with your WebCam by using iVisit and send the file to class as an e-mail attachment.
When you send the iVisit file, transcribe (type) what you spoke into the e-mail (in ひらがな) so that I can make corrections, should you make any mistakes. Make your file name like this "your name + exercise number." For example, for this exercise, "yourname48A1" This is easier for me to organize files. Also your e-mail title "subject" should be "yourname48A1".

For some exercises, there is no way that the server can automatically check your answers with 100% accuracy. Especially when the exercises are open ended (you come up with your own answers/ideas).
Please don't send me any e-mail asking "I think my answers are right, but the server said it's wrong." Class Rule 7.

  1. Time limit is 90 minutes. However, the timer is set for 120 minutes because it's not possible to set for 90 minutes.
  2. You'll take the Lesson 2 test either on Thursday or Friday. 10% will be deducted for each solar day you take the test late under any cirsumstances.
  3. Go to the testing center. Call and check their hours. Lama 101: 734-9144. If you access this test anyplace else, it's cheating and your course grade will be F. When you take the test, you have know the URL for this schedule page.
  4. The lab monitors at the testing center don't have any information such as URL to this page, your user ID, your password. Be sure to know all of the information when you go to the testing center.
  5. You can take the onilne oral test anywhere, but you must have a working micrphone and a working webcam. Be sure to be familiar with the virtual conversation online.
